मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-71, verse-17

ऋषिरुवाच ।
पाताले नागराजोऽस्ति प्रख्यातश्च कपोतकः ।
तेन दृष्टा त्वया त्यक्ता भ्रममाणा महावने ॥१७॥
17. ṛṣiruvāca .
pātāle nāgarājo'sti prakhyātaśca kapotakaḥ .
tena dṛṣṭā tvayā tyaktā bhramamāṇā mahāvane.
17. ṛṣiḥ uvāca pātāle nāgarājaḥ asti prakhyātaḥ ca
kapotakaḥ tena dṛṣṭā tvayā tyaktā bhramamāṇā mahāvane
17. The sage said: "In Pātāla lives the renowned serpent king Kapotaka. He saw her, abandoned by you, wandering in the great forest."
