एतासाञ्च यदिष्टोऽयं तत् किं प्राणान्न मुञ्चति ।
आलिङ्गत्यपरां कान्तां ध्यातो वै कान्तयान्यया ॥१६॥

16. etāsāñca yadiṣṭo'yaṃ tat kiṃ prāṇānna muñcati .

etāsām ca yadi iṣṭaḥ ayam tat kim prāṇān na muñcati

If he were truly dear to these women, why would he not lay down his life (for them)? Instead, he embraces one beloved while being longed for by yet another.
