महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-75, verse-18

स तेन वारणो राजन्मर्मण्यभिहतो भृशम् ।
पपात सहसा भूमौ वज्ररुग्ण इवाचलः ॥१८॥
18. sa tena vāraṇo rājanmarmaṇyabhihato bhṛśam ,
papāta sahasā bhūmau vajrarugṇa ivācalaḥ.

papāta sahasā bhūmau vajrarugṇaḥ iva acalaḥ

18. That elephant, O king, struck severely in its vital spot by that (arrow), instantly collapsed onto the earth, just like a mountain rent asunder by a thunderbolt.
