महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-75, verse-12

ततस्तं वारणं क्रुद्धः शरजालेन पाण्डवः ।
निवारयामास तदा वेलेव मकरालयम् ॥१२॥
12. tatastaṁ vāraṇaṁ kruddhaḥ śarajālena pāṇḍavaḥ ,
nivārayāmāsa tadā veleva makarālayam.

12. Then the enraged Pāṇḍava (Arjuna), with a shower of arrows, stopped that elephant, just as a shore restrains the ocean.
