महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-52, verse-26

कौमारं ब्रह्मचर्यं ते जानामि द्विजसत्तम ।
दुःखार्जितस्य तपसस्तस्मान्नेच्छामि ते व्ययम् ॥२६॥
26. kaumāraṁ brahmacaryaṁ te jānāmi dvijasattama ,
duḥkhārjitasya tapasastasmānnecchāmi te vyayam.

duḥkhārjitasya tapasas tasmāt na icchāmi te vyayam

26. O best among the twice-born (dvija), I know your celibacy (brahmacarya) from childhood. Therefore, I do not wish for the loss of your asceticism (tapas), which was acquired with such difficulty.
