महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-332, verse-11

तस्माच्चोत्तिष्ठते देवात्सर्वभूतगतं मनः ।
चन्द्रमा येन संयुक्तः प्रकाशगुणधारणः ॥११॥
11. tasmāccottiṣṭhate devātsarvabhūtagataṁ manaḥ ,
candramā yena saṁyuktaḥ prakāśaguṇadhāraṇaḥ.
11. tasmāt ca uttiṣṭhate devāt sarvabhūtagatam manaḥ
candramā yena saṃyuktaḥ prakāśaguṇadhāraṇaḥ
11. manaḥ tasmāt ca devāt uttiṣṭhate sarvabhūtagatam
yena candramā prakāśaguṇadhāraṇaḥ saṃyuktaḥ
11. And from that God arises the mind (manas), which pervades all beings. By Him, the moon is endowed, bearing the quality of light.
