महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-3, verse-26

तमुवाच ततः कर्णः शापभीतः प्रसादयन् ।
ब्रह्मक्षत्रान्तरे सूतं जातं मां विद्धि भार्गव ॥२६॥
26. tamuvāca tataḥ karṇaḥ śāpabhītaḥ prasādayan ,
brahmakṣatrāntare sūtaṁ jātaṁ māṁ viddhi bhārgava.

26. tataḥ śāpabhītaḥ prasādayan karṇaḥ tam uvāca: "bhārgava,

26. Then Karṇa, fearful of the curse and seeking to appease him, said to him: "O Bhārgava, know me to be a sūta, born from the union of a brāhmaṇa and a kṣatriya."
