महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-186, verse-31

एक एव चरेद्धर्मं नास्ति धर्मे सहायता ।
केवलं विधिमासाद्य सहायः किं करिष्यति ॥३१॥
31. eka eva careddharmaṁ nāsti dharme sahāyatā ,
kevalaṁ vidhimāsādya sahāyaḥ kiṁ kariṣyati.

31. One should follow their natural law (dharma) alone; there is no true assistance in (the path of) dharma. Having merely acquired the method or rule, what real help can an assistant provide?
