महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-186, verse-14

स्वदेशे परदेशे वा अतिथिं नोपवासयेत् ।
काम्यं कर्मफलं लब्ध्वा गुरूणामुपपादयेत् ॥१४॥
14. svadeśe paradeśe vā atithiṁ nopavāsayet ,
kāmyaṁ karmaphalaṁ labdhvā gurūṇāmupapādayet.

14. Whether in one's own country or in a foreign land, one should not cause a guest to fast (i.e., starve them). Having obtained the desired fruits of one's actions (karma), one should offer them to the teachers (guru).
