महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-101, verse-17

राजा च तमृषिं श्रुत्वा निष्क्रम्य सह मन्त्रिभिः ।
प्रसादयामास तदा शूलस्थमृषिसत्तमम् ॥१७॥
17. rājā ca tamṛṣiṁ śrutvā niṣkramya saha mantribhiḥ ,
prasādayāmāsa tadā śūlasthamṛṣisattamam.

17. And the king, having heard about that sage, then came out with his ministers and appeased that greatest sage who was impaled on a stake.
