महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-101, verse-12

ततस्ते शूलमारोप्य तं मुनिं रक्षिणस्तदा ।
प्रतिजग्मुर्महीपालं धनान्यादाय तान्यथ ॥१२॥
12. tataste śūlamāropya taṁ muniṁ rakṣiṇastadā ,
pratijagmurmahīpālaṁ dhanānyādāya tānyatha.
12. tataḥ te śūlam āropya tam munim rakṣiṇaḥ tadā
pratijagmuḥ mahīpālam dhanāni ādāya tāni atha
12. Then, those guards, having impaled that sage on the stake at that time and having taken those riches, returned to the king.
