योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-26, verse-14

यथाक्षिसंवृतिः सर्वरूपालोकशमोऽरिहन् ।
संवित्संवरणं नाम सर्वदृश्यशमस्तथा ॥ १४ ॥
yathākṣisaṃvṛtiḥ sarvarūpālokaśamo'rihan ,
saṃvitsaṃvaraṇaṃ nāma sarvadṛśyaśamastathā 14

saṃvitsaṃvaraṇam nāma sarvadṛśyaśamaḥ tathā

14. O destroyer of enemies, just as the closing of the eyes is the cessation of the perception of all forms, similarly, the covering of consciousness (saṃvit), indeed, is the cessation of all perceivable objects.
