अथ सिन्धुर्वदिष्यति ।
आर्यानार्यवपुः कोऽहमभवं विमतिः पुरा ।
यद्वशान्मे कुसंस्कारः प्राक्तनोऽस्ति भवप्रदः ॥ १ ॥

atha sindhurvadiṣyati ,
āryānāryavapuḥ ko'hamabhavaṃ vimatiḥ purā ,
yadvaśānme kusaṃskāraḥ prāktano'sti bhavapradaḥ 1

“Who was I in the past, a bewildered (vimati) person with a form (vapus) that was both noble (ārya) and ignoble (anārya)? Due to which, my past bad predisposition (saṃskāra) that causes rebirth (bhava) still exists.”
