श्रीराम उवाच ।
विचाराभ्युदयाच्चित्तस्वरूपेऽन्तर्हिते मुने ।
मैत्र्यादयो गुणा जाता इत्युक्तं किं त्वया प्रभो ॥ २ ॥

maitryādayo guṇā jātā ityuktaṃ kiṃ tvayā prabho 2

Śrī Rāma said: 'O Sage, O Lord, did you say that virtues like friendliness arose when the very nature of the mind (citta) disappeared due to the ascendance of inquiry (vicāra)?'
