योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-1, chapter-19, verse-25

विद्यागृहगतो बालो परामेति कदर्थनाम् ।
आलान इव नागेन्द्रो विषवैषम्यभीषणाम् ॥ २५ ॥
vidyāgṛhagato bālo parāmeti kadarthanām ,
ālāna iva nāgendro viṣavaiṣamyabhīṣaṇām 25
25. vidyāgṛhagataḥ bālaḥ parām eti kadarthanām
ālānaḥ iva nāgindraḥ viṣavaiṣamyabhīṣaṇām
25. vidyāgṛhagataḥ bālaḥ parām kadarthanām eti,
nāgindraḥ ālānaḥ iva viṣavaiṣamyabhīṣaṇām (kadarthanām).
25. A child, when going to a house of learning, faces extreme hardship, just like a lordly elephant (nāgā) at a tethering post faces a terrifying adversity, as severe as poison.
