योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-1, chapter-19, verse-18

नवं नवं प्रीतिकरं न शिशुः प्रत्यहं यदि ।
प्राप्नोति तदसौ याति विषवैषम्यमूर्च्छनाम् ॥ १८ ॥
navaṃ navaṃ prītikaraṃ na śiśuḥ pratyahaṃ yadi ,
prāpnoti tadasau yāti viṣavaiṣamyamūrcchanām 18
18. navaṃ navaṃ prītikarṃ na śiśuḥ pratyahaṃ yadi
prāpnoti tat asau yāti viṣavaiṣamyamūrcchanām
18. yadi śiśuḥ pratyahaṃ navaṃ navaṃ prītikarṃ na prāpnoti,
tat asau viṣavaiṣamyamūrcchanām yāti
18. If a child (śiśu) does not daily obtain something new and delightful, then he falls into a state of intense distress, like one overcome by the imbalance of poison.
