योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-1, chapter-19, verse-5

तिर्यग्जातिसमारम्भः सर्वैरेवावधीरितः ।
लोलो बालसमाचारो मरणादपि दुःखदः ॥ ५ ॥
tiryagjātisamārambhaḥ sarvairevāvadhīritaḥ ,
lolo bālasamācāro maraṇādapi duḥkhadaḥ 5
5. tiryag-jāti-samārambhaḥ sarvaiḥ eva avadhīritaḥ
lolaḥ bāla-samācāraḥ maraṇāt api duḥkhadaḥ
5. tiryag-jāti-samārambhaḥ sarvaiḥ eva avadhīritaḥ.
lolaḥ bāla-samācāraḥ maraṇāt api duḥkhadaḥ.
5. The very beginning of life in a lower species (tiryag-jāti) is indeed disregarded by all. Similarly, the restless and unpredictable behavior (bāla-samācāra) of a child causes more suffering even than death.
