संसारसागरे जन्म बाल्यं दुःखाय केवलम् ॥ १ ॥

Śrī Rāma said: Even after obtaining birth in this ocean of transmigration (saṃsāra), which has a fluctuating nature and is characterized by waves of the burdens of actions, childhood is merely a source of misery.
