योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-1, chapter-19, verse-22

स्वसंकल्पाभिलषितान्भावानप्राप्य तप्तधीः ।
दुःखमेत्यबलो बालो विनिष्कृत्त इवाशये ॥ २२ ॥
svasaṃkalpābhilaṣitānbhāvānaprāpya taptadhīḥ ,
duḥkhametyabalo bālo viniṣkṛtta ivāśaye 22
22. svasaṅkalpābhilāṣitān bhāvān aprāpya taptadhīḥ
duḥkham eti abalaḥ bālaḥ viniṣkṛttaḥ iva āśaye
22. abalaḥ taptadhīḥ bālaḥ svasaṅkalpābhilāṣitān
bhāvān aprāpya duḥkham eti āśaye viniṣkṛttaḥ iva
22. A helpless child, with an agitated mind, experiences sorrow when he fails to obtain the objects desired by his own will, as if he were severed from his very core.
