वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-7, chapter-78, verse-10

नानामृगाणामयुतं वध्यमानं महात्मना ।
यत्र जातो महासेनस्तं देशमुपचक्रमे ॥१०॥
10. nānāmṛgāṇāmayutaṃ vadhyamānaṃ mahātmanā ,
yatra jāto mahāsenastaṃ deśamupacakrame.

yatra jātaḥ mahāsenaḥ tam deśam upacakrame
10. mahātmanā nānāmṛgāṇām ayutam vadhyamānam,
yatra mahāsenaḥ jātaḥ,

10. The great-souled (king) approached that region where ten thousand various animals were being killed, and where Mahāsena was born.
