वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-3, chapter-57, verse-7

आर्येणेव परिक्रुष्टं हा सीते लक्ष्मणेति च ।
परित्राहीति यद्वाक्यं मैथिल्यास्तच्छ्रुतिं गतम् ॥७॥
7. āryeṇeva parikruṣṭaṃ hā sīte lakṣmaṇeti ca ,
paritrāhīti yadvākyaṃ maithilyāstacchrutiṃ gatam.
7. āryeṇa eva parikruṣṭam hā sīte lakṣmaṇa iti ca
paritrāhi iti yat vākyam maithilyāḥ tat śrutim gatam
7. āryeṇa eva (kṛtam) parikruṣṭam 'hā sīte lakṣmaṇa' iti ca,
'paritrāhi' iti yat vākyam (āśīḥ),
tat maithilyāḥ śrutim gatam
7. A cry, like that of the noble one (Rāma) himself, 'Oh Sītā! Oh Lakṣmaṇa!' and 'Protect me!' – that very statement (from the false Rāma) reached the ears of Maithilī (Sītā).
