वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-3, chapter-57, verse-12

किंनिमित्तं तु केनापि भ्रातुरालम्ब्य मे स्वरम् ।
विस्वरं व्याहृतं वाक्यं लक्ष्मण त्राहि मामिति ।
न भवत्या व्यथा कार्या कुनारीजनसेविता ॥१२॥
12. kiṃnimittaṃ tu kenāpi bhrāturālambya me svaram ,
visvaraṃ vyāhṛtaṃ vākyaṃ lakṣmaṇa trāhi māmiti ,
na bhavatyā vyathā kāryā kunārījanasevitā.
12. kimnimittam tu kena api bhrātuḥ
ālambya me svaram visvaram vyāhṛtam
vākyam lakṣmaṇa trāhi mām iti na
bhavatyā vyathā kāryā kunārījanasevitā
12. tu kena api me bhrātuḥ svaram ālambya kimnimittam visvaram lakṣmaṇa mām trāhi iti vākyam vyāhṛtam? bhavatyā kunārījanasevitā vyathā na kāryā.
12. But for what reason would anyone, imitating my brother's voice, utter such a discordant statement as 'O Lakṣmaṇa, protect me!'? You (Sītā) should not give in to such anxiety, which is characteristic of wicked women.
