वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-7, verse-21

उपस्थितं प्रयुञ्जानस्त्वयि सान्त्वमनर्थकम् ।
अर्थेनैवाद्य ते भर्ता कौसल्यां योजयिष्यति ॥२१॥
21. upasthitaṃ prayuñjānastvayi sāntvamanarthakam ,
arthenaivādya te bhartā kausalyāṃ yojayiṣyati.

arthena eva adya te bhartā kausalyām yojayiṣyati
21. (Your) bhartā (now) adya upasthitam anarthakam sāntvam tvayi prayuñjānaḥ (san) arthena eva kausalyām yojayiṣyati.
21. Your husband is employing meaningless conciliatory words towards you right now. Today, your husband will ally himself with Kaushalya solely for his own benefit.
