वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-72, verse-11

दातृप्रतिग्रहीतृभ्यां सर्वार्थाः प्रभवन्ति हि ।
स्वधर्मं प्रतिपद्यस्व कृत्वा वैवाह्यमुत्तमम् ॥११॥
11. dātṛpratigrahītṛbhyāṃ sarvārthāḥ prabhavanti hi ,
svadharmaṃ pratipadyasva kṛtvā vaivāhyamuttamam.
11. dātṛpratigrahītṛbhyām sarvārthāḥ prabhavanti hi
svadharmam pratipadyasva kṛtvā vaivāhyam uttamam
11. hi dātṛpratigrahītṛbhyām sarvārthāḥ prabhavanti.
uttamam vaivāhyam kṛtvā svadharmam pratipadyasva.
11. Indeed, all matters (sarvārthāḥ) are accomplished through both the giver and the receiver. Therefore, you should perform your own duty (svadharma) by completing this excellent marriage ceremony.
