मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-59, verse-8

नद्योऽथ बह्व्यो विस्तीर्णाः शीततोयौघवाहिकाः ।
अत्र वर्षे नराः शङ्खशुद्धहेमसमप्रभाः ॥८॥
8. nadyo'tha bahvyo vistīrṇāḥ śītatoyaughavāhikāḥ .
atra varṣe narāḥ śaṅkhaśuddhahemasamaprabhāḥ.

8. And then, there are many wide rivers carrying currents of cold water. In this region, the people possess a radiance comparable to that of a conch shell and pure gold.
