मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-59, verse-26

वनेषु तेषु वर्षेषु शतशोऽथ सहस्रशः ।
तत्रापि भगवान् विष्णुः प्राक्शिरा मत्स्यरूपवान् ॥२६॥
26. vaneṣu teṣu varṣeṣu śataśo'tha sahasraśaḥ .
tatrāpi bhagavān viṣṇuḥ prākśirā matsyarūpavān.

26. In those hundreds and thousands of forests and regions, the divine Lord Viṣṇu is present, facing east, in the form of a fish.
