मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-17, verse-7

दत्तात्रेय इति ख्यातः सोऽनसूयास्तनं पपौ ।
विष्णुरेवावतीर्णोऽसौ द्वितीयोऽत्रेः सुतोऽभवत् ॥७॥
7. dattātreya iti khyātaḥ so'nasūyāstanaṃ papau .
viṣṇurevāvatīrṇo'sau dvitīyo'treḥ suto'bhavat.
7. dattātreyaḥ iti khyātaḥ saḥ anasūyā-stanam papau
viṣṇuḥ eva avatīrṇaḥ asau dvitīyaḥ atreḥ sutaḥ abhavat
7. Known as Dattātreya, he drank from Anasūyā's breast. He was indeed Viṣṇu himself, descended as an incarnation (avatīrṇa), and became the second son of Atri.
