दत्तात्रेयः प्रजां पाति दुष्टदैत्यनिबर्हणात् ।
शिष्टानुग्रहकृच्चेति ज्ञेयश्चांशः स वैष्णवः ॥१३॥

13. dattātreyaḥ prajāṃ pāti duṣṭadaityanibarhaṇāt .
śiṣṭānugrahakṛcceti jñeyaścāṃśaḥ sa vaiṣṇavaḥ.

13. dattātreyaḥ prajām pāti duṣṭadaityanibarhaṇāt
śiṣṭa-anugraha-kṛt ca iti jñeyaḥ ca aṃśaḥ saḥ vaiṣṇavaḥ

13. Dattātreya protects the people by eradicating wicked demons. He is known to be an aspect (aṃśa) of Viṣṇu, who grants favor to the virtuous.
