महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-51, verse-9

सात्मानं मन्यमानापि कृतकृत्यं श्रमान्विता ।
वार्द्धकेन च राजेन्द्र तपसा चैव कर्शिता ॥९॥
9. sātmānaṁ manyamānāpi kṛtakṛtyaṁ śramānvitā ,
vārddhakena ca rājendra tapasā caiva karśitā.
9. sā ātmānam manyamānā api kṛtakṛtyam śramānvitā
vārddhakena ca rājendra tapasā ca eva karśitā
9. rājendra! sā kṛtakṛtyam ātmānam manyamānā api
śramānvitā ca vārddhakena ca tapasā eva karśitā
9. O King (rājendra), although she considered herself to have accomplished her purpose, she was nevertheless exhausted and emaciated by old age and by her asceticism (tapas).
