महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-8, chapter-58, verse-13

व्यस्फूर्जयच्च गाण्डीवं सुमहद्भैरवस्वनम् ।
घोरो वज्रविनिष्पेषः स्तनयित्नोरिवाम्बरे ॥१३॥
13. vyasphūrjayacca gāṇḍīvaṁ sumahadbhairavasvanam ,
ghoro vajraviniṣpeṣaḥ stanayitnorivāmbare.
13. vyasphūrjayat ca gāṇḍīvam sumahat bhairavasvanam
ghoraḥ vajraviniṣpeṣaḥ stanayitnoḥ iva ambare
13. (saḥ) ca sumahat bhairavasvanam gāṇḍīvam vyasphūrjayat; (tat) ambare stanayitnoḥ ghoraḥ vajraviniṣpeṣaḥ iva.
13. And he twanged the Gāṇḍīva (Arjuna's bow), which was exceedingly great and produced a terrifying sound, like the dreadful crash of a thunderbolt (vajra) or the roar of thunder in the sky.
