hataiḥ gajamanuṣyāśvaiḥ,
bahudhā bhagnaiḥ rathaiḥ ca,
viśastrapattrakavacaiḥ,
yuddhaśauṇḍaiḥ,
gatāsubhiḥ,
apaviddhāyudhaiḥ ca mārgaḥ stīrṇaḥ abhūt.

Indeed, the path was strewn by Phalguna (Arjuna) with slain elephants, men, and horses; with chariots shattered in various ways; and with battle-hardened warriors who were disarmed, whose armor-plates and armors were destroyed, whose lives had departed, and who had cast aside their weapons.
