महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-32, verse-8

वरं दत्त्वा मम प्रीतः पश्चाद्विकृतवानसि ।
आशाभङ्गं न कुर्वन्ति भक्तस्यार्याः कथंचन ॥८॥
8. varaṁ dattvā mama prītaḥ paścādvikṛtavānasi ,
āśābhaṅgaṁ na kurvanti bhaktasyāryāḥ kathaṁcana.

āśābhaṅgam na kurvanti bhaktasya āryāḥ kathaṃcana

8. Having pleased me by granting a boon, you have since altered it. Noble individuals (ārya) never, in any way, disappoint the hope of a devotee (bhakta).
