महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-96, verse-6

अवगाह्य ततो भूमिमुभौ मातलिनारदौ ।
ददृशाते महात्मानौ लोकपालमपां पतिम् ॥६॥
6. avagāhya tato bhūmimubhau mātalināradau ,
dadṛśāte mahātmānau lokapālamapāṁ patim.

6. Then, having descended into the earth (bhūmi), both great-souled Matali and Narada saw the lord of the waters, the guardian of the worlds (lokapāla).
