महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-96, verse-1

कण्व उवाच ।
मातलिस्तु व्रजन्मार्गे नारदेन महर्षिणा ।
वरुणं गच्छता द्रष्टुं समागच्छद्यदृच्छया ॥१॥
1. kaṇva uvāca ,
mātalistu vrajanmārge nāradena maharṣiṇā ,
varuṇaṁ gacchatā draṣṭuṁ samāgacchadyadṛcchayā.
1. kaṇva uvāca mātaliḥ tu vrajan mārge nāradena maharṣiṇā
varuṇam gacchata draṣṭum samāgacchat yadṛcchayā
1. Kaṇva said: Mātali, while proceeding on his way, happened to meet the great sage Nārada, who was going to see Varuṇa.
