महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-87, verse-10

तथा च गतिमन्तस्ते वासुदेवस्य वाजिनः ।
प्रनष्टगतयोऽभूवन्राजमार्गे नरैर्वृते ॥१०॥
10. tathā ca gatimantaste vāsudevasya vājinaḥ ,
pranaṣṭagatayo'bhūvanrājamārge narairvṛte.
10. tathā ca gatimantaḥ te vāsudevasya vājinaḥ
pranaṣṭagatayaḥ abhūvan rājamārge naraiḥ vṛte
10. And so, Vāsudeva's (Kṛṣṇa's) swift horses lost their movement on the royal road, which was crowded with people.
