अत्र शांतनवो भीष्मो रथेऽस्माकं पितामहः ।
काङ्क्षमाणो मया युद्धं तिष्ठत्यमरदर्शनः ।

2. atra śāṁtanavo bhīṣmo rathe'smākaṁ pitāmahaḥ ,
kāṅkṣamāṇo mayā yuddhaṁ tiṣṭhatyamaradarśanaḥ ,
ādāsyāmyahametasya dhanurjyāmapi cāhave.

Here, on a chariot, stands Bhīṣma, the son of Śāntanu, our grandfather, looking like an immortal, eagerly desiring battle with me. I will indeed seize his bowstring in this very conflict.
