महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-220, verse-5

स्कन्द उवाच ।
हव्यं कव्यं च यत्किंचिद्द्विजा मन्त्रपुरस्कृतम् ।
होष्यन्त्यग्नौ सदा देवि स्वाहेत्युक्त्वा समुद्यतम् ॥५॥
5. skanda uvāca ,
havyaṁ kavyaṁ ca yatkiṁciddvijā mantrapuraskṛtam ,
hoṣyantyagnau sadā devi svāhetyuktvā samudyatam.
5. skandaḥ uvāca havyam kavyam ca yatkiñcit dvijā mantrapuraskṛtam
hoṣyanti agnau sadā devi svāhā iti uktvā samudyatam
5. Skanda said: 'O goddess, whatever prepared oblations (havya) for the gods and offerings (kavya) for the ancestors, consecrated by sacred utterances (mantras), Brahmins (dvija) will always offer into Agni, uttering "Svāhā".'
