dakṣasyāhaṁ priyā kanyā svāhā nāma mahābhuja ,
bālyātprabhṛti nityaṁ ca jātakāmā hutāśane.

Svāhā said: "O mighty-armed one, I am Svāhā by name, the dear daughter of Dakṣa. From childhood onwards, I have always been desirous of Agni (hutāśana)."
