महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-211, verse-8

तपसश्च मनुं पुत्रं भानुं चाप्यङ्गिरासृजत् ।
बृहद्भानुं तु तं प्राहुर्ब्राह्मणा वेदपारगाः ॥८॥
8. tapasaśca manuṁ putraṁ bhānuṁ cāpyaṅgirāsṛjat ,
bṛhadbhānuṁ tu taṁ prāhurbrāhmaṇā vedapāragāḥ.
8. tapasaḥ ca manum putram bhānum ca api aṅgirā asṛjat
bṛhadbhānum tu tam prāhuḥ brāhmaṇāḥ vedapāragāḥ
8. From austerity (tapas), Aṅgiras created Manu as a son, and also Bhānu. However, the Brahmins, who are experts in the Vedas, call him Bṛhadbhānu.
