Vaiśampāyana said: Then, after the auspicious rite (svastyayana) was performed, the great-souled Yudhiṣṭhira proceeded to the ocean-bound river (Gaṅgā). Having completely fulfilled the sage's instructions, he reached Mount Mahendra and spent the night there.
