महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-114, verse-2

स सागरं समासाद्य गङ्गायाः संगमे नृप ।
नदीशतानां पञ्चानां मध्ये चक्रे समाप्लवम् ॥२॥
2. sa sāgaraṁ samāsādya gaṅgāyāḥ saṁgame nṛpa ,
nadīśatānāṁ pañcānāṁ madhye cakre samāplavam.

2. Having reached the ocean, O King, at the confluence of the Gaṅgā, he performed a complete ceremonial bath (samāplava) amidst five hundred rivers.
