महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-49, verse-14

उपागृह्णाद्यमिन्द्राय पुराकल्पे प्रजापतिः ।
तमस्मै शङ्खमाहार्षीद्वारुणं कलशोदधिः ॥१४॥
14. upāgṛhṇādyamindrāya purākalpe prajāpatiḥ ,
tamasmai śaṅkhamāhārṣīdvāruṇaṁ kalaśodadhiḥ.
14. upāgṛhṇāt yam indrāya purākalpe prajāpatiḥ
tam asmai śaṅkham āhārṣīt vāruṇam kalaśodadhiḥ
14. Prajapati, in a previous cosmic age, had taken a conch for Indra. That conch, associated with Varuna, the ocean (kalaśodadhi) then brought to him.
