महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-24, verse-26

स विजित्य ततो राजन्नृषिकान्रणमूर्धनि ।
शुकोदरसमप्रख्यान्हयानष्टौ समानयत् ।
मयूरसदृशानन्यानुभयानेव चापरान् ॥२६॥
26. sa vijitya tato rājannṛṣikānraṇamūrdhani ,
śukodarasamaprakhyānhayānaṣṭau samānayat ,
mayūrasadṛśānanyānubhayāneva cāparān.

raṇa-mūrdhani śuka-udara-sama-prākhyān
hayān aṣṭau samānayat mayūra-sadṛśān
anyān ubhayān eva ca aparān
26. O King, having then conquered the Nṛṣikas on the battlefield, he brought back eight horses that resembled the color of a parrot's belly. He also brought other horses that resembled peacocks, and still others that were of both types.
