महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-23, verse-25

भवान्पितृसखा चैव प्रीयमाणो मयापि च ।
ततो नाज्ञापयामि त्वां प्रीतिपूर्वं प्रदीयताम् ॥२५॥
25. bhavānpitṛsakhā caiva prīyamāṇo mayāpi ca ,
tato nājñāpayāmi tvāṁ prītipūrvaṁ pradīyatām.
25. bhavān pitṛsakhā ca eva prīyamāṇaḥ mayā api ca
tataḥ na ājñāpayāmi tvām prītipūrvam pradīyatām
25. "You are indeed a friend of my father, and you are also well-pleased with me. Therefore, I do not command you; rather, let it be given with affection."
