Atonement (niṣkṛti) is prescribed, O King, for a slayer of Brahmins (brahmaghna), for a liquor-drinker (surāpa), for a thief, and also for one who has broken a vow (bhagnavrata). But for an ungrateful person (kṛtaghna), there is no atonement (niṣkṛti).
