भीष्म उवाच ।
मातापित्रोर्गुरूणां च पूजा बहुमता मम ।
अत्र युक्तो नरो लोकान्यशश्च महदश्नुते ॥३॥

3. bhīṣma uvāca ,
mātāpitrorgurūṇāṁ ca pūjā bahumatā mama ,
atra yukto naro lokānyaśaśca mahadaśnute.

mama atra yuktaḥ naraḥ lokān yaśaḥ ca mahat aśnute

3. Bhishma said: 'Reverence for parents and teachers (guru) is highly esteemed by me. A person (puruṣa) devoted to this obtains worlds and great fame.'
