महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-109, verse-25

न तेऽवमानमर्हन्ति न च ते दूषयन्ति तम् ।
गुरूणामेव सत्कारं विदुर्देवाः सहर्षिभिः ॥२५॥
25. na te'vamānamarhanti na ca te dūṣayanti tam ,
gurūṇāmeva satkāraṁ vidurdevāḥ saharṣibhiḥ.
25. na te avamānam arhanti na ca te dūṣayanti tam
gurūṇām eva satkāram viduḥ devāḥ saharṣibhiḥ
25. te avamānam na arhanti ca te tam na dūṣayanti
devāḥ saharṣibhiḥ eva gurūṇām satkāram viduḥ
25. They (mother and father) do not deserve disrespect, nor do they corrupt (their children). The gods, along with the sages, understand the honor due to spiritual teachers (gurus).
