ब्राह्मण उवाच ।
गङ्गाद्वारं प्रति महान्बभूवर्षिर्महातपाः ।
भरद्वाजो महाप्राज्ञः सततं संशितव्रतः ॥१॥

1. The brahmin said: "Near Gangadvāra lived a great sage (ṛṣi) of profound spiritual discipline (tapas), Bharadvaja, who was exceedingly wise and always steadfast in his vows."

1. הבְּרַהְמִין אמר, ליד גַנְגָאדְוָארַה חי חוזה גדול בעל עוצמה רוחנית רבה, בְּהַרַדְוָאג׳ַה, בעל תבונה רבה, ששמר תמיד על נדרים נוקשים.
