योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-48, verse-40

पूर्वं यथाभिमतपूजनसुप्रसन्नो दत्वा विवेकमिह पावनदूतमात्मा ।
जीवं पदं नयति निर्मलमेकमाद्यं सत्सङ्गशास्त्रपरमार्थपरावबोधैः ॥ ४० ॥

40. The self (ātman), formerly well-pleased by worship performed according to one's desire, bestows discrimination (viveka) as a pure messenger. Through association with the wise (satsaṅga), study of scriptures, understanding of ultimate reality (paramārtha), and supreme knowledge, it leads the individual soul (jīva) to that pure, singular, and primeval state.
