योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-7, chapter-48, verse-35

विवेकदूतमुद्बोध्य हत्वा चित्तपिशाचकम् ।
आत्मनः पदवीं स्फारां जीवः कामपि नीयते ॥ ३५ ॥
vivekadūtamudbodhya hatvā cittapiśācakam ,
ātmanaḥ padavīṃ sphārāṃ jīvaḥ kāmapi nīyate 35
35. viveka-dūtam udbodhya hatvā citta-piśācakam
ātmanaḥ padavīm sphārām jīvaḥ kām api nīyate
35. viveka-dūtam udbodhya citta-piśācakam hatvā
jīvaḥ ātmanaḥ kām api sphārām padavīm nīyate
35. Having awakened the messenger of discernment and slain the demon of the mind (citta), the individual soul (jīva) is led to an indescribably expansive state of the self (ātman).
